Ways to boot your energy by snacking
Snacking is a great way to keep your metabolism revved up
Bananas and apples- are loaded with antioxidants, fiber and Vitamin C. You can take them with you and they don’t need refrigeration.
Yogart and Cereal- the carbs in the yogurt combined with cereal is a great energy booster! When you’re hungry before dinner, sprinkle cereal on top. Have it for lunch.
Popcorn- is a light snack, filled with fiber and may make you feel full longer. Try the single serve bags to cut back on calories.
Red Peppers and hummus- vegetables offer good carbs, fiber, plus nutrients and vitamins, which fill you up. Adding Hummus provides the protein to satisfy your hunger.
Almonds and Walnuts- packed with good fats, which keep you full, and they add fiber to your diet. They also contain nutrients such as Selenium, Vitamin E and Omega 3’s. They’re easy to overeat so pack 3tbls in a Ziploc bag and carry them with you.
Half a sandwich – you can eat real food as a snack! Try half a chicken or lean turkey sandwich with mustard, lettuce on whole wheat will boost your energy and keep you satisfied for a few hours.
