Jumping rope is the most beneficial form of exercise burning the most calories per minute/per hour. It can be done almost anywhere and best of all it’s entertaining!

Jumping rope can burn up to 1000 calories per hour making it the most efficient workout possible. It tones muscles in the entire body developing long lean muscles in both upper and lower body. Jumping rope optimizes cardiovascular conditioning and maximizes athletic skills by combining agility, coordination timing, and endurance.

It’s fun! Once you develop a natural rhythm easy jumping takes over and you don’t even notice you’re exercising. This is why so many athletes especially professional boxers and highly conditioned athletes are able to jump rope for hours on end without tiring physically and mentally.

Inexpensive! The average cost is anywhere from $5-15 dollars. They can be found in any sporting good store such as Modells, Sports Authority, Paragon and even Target and Walmart.

Portable. It’s perfect for travelers and can be easily stored in your suitcase, briefcase or backpack.

Have we convinced you!?

One-hour sounds a bit demanding, right? To condition yourself try it for 1-minute intervals. I know it seems like a short time length but trust me it’s hard! After the one-minute, shake your legs and repeat. Work your way up to 5-10 minutes the first week.  Continue the following week adding more time.  Don’t forget to stretch, you’re calves will tighten after every jump rope workout.

Try it 3x a week! I guarantee you’ll see and feel results in two weeks.

Happy Mother’s day!!! See you all tomorrow at 6 am, on the Brookdale park track.

I started Bootcamp on Wed (5/13) and attended my second class on Friday. I’m sore from head-to-toe and it feels great! This is one of the best workouts I’ve ever had. I’m super excited about continuing with the classes and am finally motivated to lose the 20 lbs I gained when I had my son 22 months ago.
