GET UP, GET MOVING, GET MOTIVATED!
With the time change many of us are feeling a little bit different. We’ll get used to it but for now you may feel a bit out of sorts. Yes the extra hour of light is great at the end of the day. But what about the morning? How can we set up our day so that we feel great at the start of the very first light in the morning?
MORNING ROUTINE!
Those of you who come to bootcamp three mornings a week are ahead of the game but you can do more! Let’s set up every day so that we feel great! How can we do this?
TAKE FIVE MINUTES TO DO THIS WHEN YOU FIRST WAKE UP:
1. Stretch! If you know the sun salutation from yoga practice, do that! Do a few in a row to get moving or lie down and stretch your body in opposite directions-stretch as FAR as you can and lengthen your body! Sit up and touch your toes. This will increase your flexibility.
2. Jumping Jacks-Do 30! This should take you about 30 seconds! It will increase your heart rate and wake you up! Your blood will circulate and wake up every part of your body.
3. Side Bends and Torso Twists-Do a few side bends to get your oblique muscles working and do a few torso twists to awaken your insides. It will increase blood flow to your intestines, stomach and other organs.
4. Meditate-Picture your day ahead of you and picture making things go the way you hope they will. Push out any negative thoughts and decide to make this a great day. Imagine yourself surrounded my warm, sunny light and smile.
THIS WILL ONLY TAKE A FEW MINUTES! IT WILL SET YOU UP FOR A GREAT DAY!
