Montclair’s extremely talented local Artist, Katie Fisher, is offering 10% off of her services to our members. Katie brings her artistic skills to create one of a kind designs. Katie specializes in custom design services, affordable yet distinctive invitations & announcements, LGBT designs, artistic stationery, fine art, and more!
Founder and Head Designer, Katie Fischer Cohen, earned a BS and an MA from New York University, where she studied graphic design and studio art under Maureen Gallace, Ryan McGinness, and Elizabeth Peyton. She has been an artist-in-residence with Chashama (NYC) and taught art to orphans in the Dominican Republic with the Aurelius Foundation. At the Pat Gail Gallery (Montclair, NJ) in May 2009, Katie Fischer Cohen had her first solo art show featuring her “Birchtree Series”. You may visit her artwork, the “Crabtree Witch Series” currently on display at Market (12 Church Street, Montclair, NJ).

Studio visits are welcome and by appointment at her sunny studio in Montclair, NJ.

Meet Kathe knitch, Local Artisan who creates all things unique.
She cleverly handcrafts vintage items such as shadow boxes, banners, masks, dolls, fans and jewelry.
Words cannot describe the amount of talent she possesses in fact when you take a look at her work every piece has such intricate detail you’ll wonder how she created it.
Kathe’s work like poetry can describe a mood, set a tone, evoke a feeling. She plays with time and space through mixed mediums. She loves all things vintage and antique. She frequents estate sales, antique shops and flea-markets and waits till something “speaks” to her. The combination and juxtaposition of objects is what she finds most interesting. They all tell a story on their own.
Her works have been displayed at the Colonnades Gallery in Montclair. She created masks for the Montclair Art Museums Black and White Ball. The masks were sold through the museum’s shop as well as several other boutiques in town.
Kathe was gracious enough to donate one of her jewelry pieces to our Biggest Loser winner.

STAMNA
Last night we celebrated our friends birthday at one of our local restaurants, STAMNA GREEK TAVERNA, located at 1045 Broad Street in Bloomfield, NJ, and let me tell you it was hard to leave. We were pleased with every savory dish that came our way. From the KTAPODI (charcoal grilled octopus), to the KEFTEDAKIA (seasoned meatballs) and the SAGANAKI (cheese Flambe- a must!). For the main course we added a fish which was carefully deboned for us by our charming waiter, Harry. He recommended side dishes such as the PATATES FOURNOU (oven roasted potatoes) and the ELLINIKES PATATES TIGANITES (Greek style fries).
To top off the evening Harry and his comrades brought out a piece of sweet bread with a candle and serenaded the birthday gal with Happy Birthday.
I had the great opportunity to meet the lovely owner, Angela Nissirios, who was kind enough to spare some of her time. She listened attentively as I discussed our Biggest Loser Contest and was gracious enough to sponsor a gift card for the event.
STAMNA’s fun filled atmosphere and authentic food makes you feel like you stepped outside of New Jersey and into Greece.
